Our Philosophy

The DSC philosophy focuses on understanding, balancing and satisfying the expectations of our clients. Many of our staff members have significant years of engineering experience and some are trade qualified. These attributes reduce our client’s risk and coupled with continued professional development ensure the delivery of creative and effective engineering solutions through a coordinated multi-disciplined approach.

DSC strives to deliver carefully conceived, practical, innovative, ecologically sustainable and technologically advanced solutions whilst recognizing ease of use, build-ability and inevitable budget restraints at the same time considering ongoing ease of maintenance and running costs.

Strong teams deliver successful outcomes with senior engineering staff specifically selected with each project in mind. The team is managed by a project Director, who is in all instances, closely involved in the day to day running of each project and is responsible for the project’s successful delivery.

Value Adds

DSC focuses on the early identification of potential risks to the project and the design process, which facilitates more successful and timely project outcomes.

To this end, a preliminary risk assessment is undertaken immediately upon commencement of a project and is ongoing during concept development and implementation.

Detailed reviews are undertaken in house during the design process and as part of the design team. This assists in ensuring that all matters affecting the successful delivery of the project are addressed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

This contributes significantly to the success of a project and at DSC we believe our experience benefits both the project and the team with the early investigation and  identification of:

Infrastructure capacity

Spatial requirements

Fit issues

Acoustic engineering integration

BCA and fire engineering requirements

Access for ongoing building services maintenance

DSC approaches the services within any building to provide:

Simplicity of use

Ease of maintenance

Low energy and cost effective solutions for both the build and the end user

Simple well planned building access in tandem with appropriate level of access control promoting a secure environment for building users and visitors alike

Senior staff biased structure ensures significant levels of engineering experience and management on all projects

Staff turnover is low offering the consequent benefit that detailed engineering knowledge developed on each project remains in the practice

Superior engineering expertise is delivered as a result of senior staff involvement. DSC employees are encouraged to continue professional development ensuring their advice and concepts consider proven conventional, ecologically sustainable and technologically advanced solutions

Delivery of practical solutions is addressed by hand picking engineers who have prior contracting industry experience. This ensures that DSC delivers practical and viable 'real world' solutions, with a focus on the best performance/value/maintainability balance

Despite the competitive market, DSC continues to deliver reliable, detailed and well co-ordinated documentation resulting in low variation construction outcomes

DSC considers establishing project scope as one of the most important aspects of undertaking a project and focus on obtaining a thorough knowledge of client and end user group requirements. DSC always seeks direct input from all stakeholders in establishing and finalising a services brief and seeks to regularly engage with the client and end user groups as the designs develop

Many of our projects are repeat engagements from clients who recognise the ongoing value that DSC adds by constantly refining the services for new projects based on the experience gained and analysis of previous projects
